Subject:
2 quick newbie questions

>I have just started turning, and have two quick questions I hope someone can answer.

The first one, is it safe to use an 8", 3750 RPM grinder with one wheel missing. Will running it with only one wheel be in some way detrimental to the grinder?

The second one, is a bowl's base more resistant to cupping when it has a flat bottom, rather than a rim? I made one with a rim and it cupped a little, so I was wondering if I had left it flat, would it have prevented the cupping.

Thank-you,
Paul
