Turning Archive 2006
>This red oak bowl is 5" dia x 3 1/4" high. This is an initial attempt to add some surface embelishment to a turning and I sure wish I were happier with the results. I don't like oak much anyway so I thought I'd give the color a try on this one. However, when I buffed this piece, some of the (prisma marker) color spread into the open grain near the color band. What could I have done to prevent this other than working with a closer grained wood?
