Subject:
Looking for a hard gold colored wood

Brodie Brickey
>I'm working on a travel mug for a USC fan, their colors are gold and maroon. I thought I'd use Bloodwood for the maroon, but I'm not sure what to use for the gold. The piece will receive some abuse so a soft yellow pine is pretty much out. Any ideas other than maple?

Since the woods will be glued together prior to turning, I'd rather not try to use a stain to get the coloring.

Thanks,

Brodie Brickey
