Subject:
band saw blade guides

jared
>I use timberwolf blades on my Delta bandsaw that has the riser block on it. The blade guides that I have on it now are cool blocks, mostly because I put them on a long time ago and now I cant find the metal ones that came with the saw origianlly. It seems like the cool blocks wear off at an angle quite quickly, from the twist on the blade when cutting my turning blanks. As a result the blade doesnt really have much guidance or support from the blade guides. I cut mostly ash that is green and wet. Will the Carter guides, the ones that are all rollers, work or would they just gum up and plug up from all of the wet wood? What do other people use for guide blocks on their band saws? Thanks in advance Jared
