Subject:
General 260 speed control

Bill Crommett
>Last month I got a tremendous catch turning some dry maple which shut down the lathe. Inspection showed no lights or LEDs as was the previous experiences following a stall.

My communication with the factory led to the suggestion that I purchase a new Altivar speed control to the tune of $ 1175.00.

Has anyone out there got a more resonable alternative or a source of repair for such an accessory, or do I have to convert this lathe to a dirct drive-three pulley arrangement ?
