Turning Archive 2006
>I was saddened to hear of Cole's injury, and wanted to help raise funds for his medical care. I'm sending this hollow form down to Gary for this weekend's benifit sale, and donating all proceeds to Cole's medical expense fund. I hope others here at W/C are finding some way to contribute, too. If you can't attend and sell a few items, maybe you can send something (right away!) to help -- the sale is this Saturday.
This hollow form is from a Quaking Aspen chunk that was a demo piece at the Craftsman's Fair at Lake Sunapee, NH this summer. It was originally going to become a lampshade, but that seemed too ambitious to turn in front of a crowd. It is about 8" diameter, and about 6" tall, and turned right on the pith, roughly 1/8" thick. It's also my first attempt at texturing/pyrography -- too bad I have no carving tools to make the pattern around the neck. I offer my apologies for the lousy photo -- I don't have a proper photo booth set up yet.
