Subject:
Rikon Mini - Good first lathe?

Wendell @ Murphy, TX
>I am interested in purchasing a lathe mainly to make tool handles and knobs for furniture projects. It hasn't been a top priority for me but the $220 sale price that Woodcraft has on the Rikon mini lathe caught my eye. With the price difference between the Rikon (on sale) and the Jet, I figured it would help offset the cost of a basic set of turning tools.

What basic set of tools would I need to start turning handles which I am guessing are basic spindles? Any opinions on the set of 8 Pinnacle tools that is on sale for $160 at Woodcraft also?
