Subject:
parting tool

>Since my favorite parting tool (an offbrand 1/4" diamond tool) came up missing after my spring fling turning day, it's time to by another parting tool. I thought I would throw this out and find out what is your favorite parting tool and where is the best place to get it. I'm also interested in the ones that have a small flute. If you have one of those how do you like it? Which way do you sharpen it.

Right now I have an old 1/4" flat sided high carbon steel tool. A 3/16 diamond shaped Sears Craftsman high carbon tool. Two homemade thin parting tools, one made from an industrial hacksaw blade and one made from a keyhole saw blade.
