spring pole lathe *PIC*

>Well I'm finally home and unpacked. 3 days of turning with a spring pole lathe. Of course it's modified from the treadle lathe I started that broke. People really seemed to enjoy it. I even met one guy who tried to make a living using a spring pole lathe. He didn't survive very long.

We had a lady making grass baskets, a potter and guy building furniture with handmade joints. The 4 of us had a good time getting to know each other and entertaining the crowds.

Here's a photo of me at the spring pole lathe. I couldn't use a spring pole because we weren't allowed to put any spikes in the ground so I used bungee cords. They work but of course aren't traditional.
