treadle lathe working

Not perfect yet, it needs some more weight on the drive wheel but it will work as is if necessary. I added a segmented rim of 1x4's to the outside of the wheel. This added weight and helps keep the belt from coming off. I crowned the idlers a little more and redid the small drive wheel so it was smaller and had more crown.

Then I build a rocking treadle so I could push and pull the drive arm. It needs some slight modification which I should be able to do tomorrow night.

If anyone is in Nashville this weekend stop by the Parthenon and visit the TACA fair. Jamie Donaldson will be there with his work and there will be other demonstrators in the demo booth with me.
