Meeting Betty Scarpino

Barb Siddiqui
>I'm new to the world of woodturning, but have read many of the authors and
know a bit from 'book learnin". Today I had a surprise visit from Betty Scarpino,
who happened to be in the area and looked up any local turners through the
AAW listings. I'm so glad the real pros are down-to-earth people and willing to
share with commoners! She was fun to meet, very humble and full of stories.
I know many of you have seen her demonstrations and taken her classes. I
enjoy her new column in Woodworker's Journal, and look forward to many more.
What a great afternoon!
