Subject:
Chinese Chestnut - good for turning?

Jim K in Trappe PA
>I have an opportunity for some free chinese chestnut. The tree is very large, so I could get some good size blanks, but I have never seen the wood before. Does anyone know if it is any good for turning? What other wood is it like? (I know American chestnut is similar to oak).

Thanks,
Jim
