Turning Archive 2006
>I received my replacement spindle for my 2436 today. Took all of 5 minutes to replace it. Six cap screws, a tap with a rubber mallet, and out it popped.
Works fine now...VERY quiet. Here's a couple pics of the old spindle. Again, this lathe has been sitting unused in my (unheated) shop for over a year. It looks like condensation got the better of it. Well, it won't be a problem anymore. 1) I intend to USE it now and 2) the shop now has heat for the winter!
