Turning Archive 2006

>With the discussion about the elm which went down on the lawn of the Whit House came an idea. Don't you hate it when people have ideas for other people to implement?
Maybe the D.C. turning club can make arrangements prior to the next tree event. It is possible that one or more members might know someone of influence. Since the club up there represents the city, they might have a better chance of getting some wood. If pieces are turned for the city or National interests and the extra is used to improve the club maybe they will have a chance of getting historic wood in the future. Some of the preservation organizations might have influence also.
Of course this approach could be used anywhere.
