tung oil finish

>I have a hollowform that I have just finished turning and I'm thinking about giving it a tung oil finish.

I have some pure tung oil that I have cut to 30% with mineral spirits. What is the procedure from here? I think I read somewhere that you have to apply a coat, let it dry several days, sand it down and apply another, and so forth. But I'm not sure of the details and what I am trying to achieve at each stage.

What about buffing?

When all is said and done, what is the result? Glossy? Satin? Matte?
