Turning Magnolia?

>I normally hang out at the messages forum but I have a specific turning question. Sometime this week I'm going to have a largish magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora aka your regular southern magnolia) tree dropped. The tree guy says it is 90-100 feet tall. And it is no more than 25 feet from my house which tells you why I'm paying somebody else to drop it.

I'm going to have a lot of wood and trash to clean up since I'm doing that part myself to save some $$$. Have any of you turned this sort of magnolia? I know that almost anything can be turned so I'm really asking "is it worth my effort to rough out some bowls or vessels or should I just haul it to the roadside for the city to pick up?"
