Subject:
Poison Ivy? *PIC*

Scott Hurley in N. VA
>My Brother-In-Law has offered me an entire walnut tree that is leaning and dangerously close to falling over. However, when I went to look at it, I found it was entwined with several very large vines that look like Poison Ivy to me (see picture). He's not allergic to it, so he offered to take the vines down for me. However, I am allergic, and I'm worried that the oils from the vines have probably permeated the bark (maybe the whole tree?), making it dangerous for me to handle. I graciously thanked him for the offer, but declined for now. Has anybody had any experience with this situation? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to handle the bark, but would the wood itself be OK? Thanks in advance.

Scott
