Subject:
Hollowing Tool Info Needed

Tom Minehan
>I have used the Kelton mini hollower set (5/16 x 8) of hollowing tools to hollow small forms (ornaments; etc). Can the 1/2 in or 5/8 set be used reasonably easy without getting into the armbrace or captive systems? I know the type of wood and final shape are factors but I want to talk in general terms. I'd like to try some larger hollow forms but do not have a feel for what size for can be turned before the job becomes a chore instead of fun.
