Tinted Red Bowl *PIC*

Mark Kauder, Phenix City, AL
>This is an 11" diameter Poplar piece that I tinted the lacquer Red on. I really like doing these tinted pieces. They sell well, and are easy to do. The picture does not show the darkness of the Red - you can get a better sense of it on the edges of the bowl in the picture.

I did my first tinted lacquer piece back in November of '03 for the WC 2x4 contest. I have done a couple every year since. However, Joel Hunnicutt has really captured this style. So much so, at "The Gathering" I commented about a similar piece of mine, that it was sort of "Hunnicutt-esk", and Dave Propst laughed and said he was thinking the same thing. I take that as a complement.
