Subject:
Bandsaw blade metal?

Shawn - in ID
>There have been lots of posts on bandsaw blades but mostly on TPI, hook/skip, etc. My question is about blade metal. I just got a Shop Fox 14" with riser and am looking for 105" blades. Lots of options. I can get carbon steel at woodcraftbrands.com for ~$11, silicon steel from Suffolk/Timber Wolf for ~$15 (with current special), or 'Diemaster' M42 bimetal from toolcenter.com for ~$30. Is the bimetal going to stay sharp and last me more than ~three times as long as the others? Thanks in advance!
