Subject:
Dogwood

>Folks,

I've been lurking for a while here and looking at the beautiful work you all produce enviously. The question: I have been rewarded with a moderate quantity of fireplace length pieces of dogwood. It seems most if not all was branch wood (pith is way off center). Is this usable for turning? I was thinking I could get some chisel handles out of it and maybe if I'm really lucky a mallet head. Pipe dream? Or am I underestimating it's value completely? Wadya think?
