Directions to the "Gathering" from Chattanooga, TN

>From I-75, Chattanooga:
Tke Dalton, Rocky Face exit and go east. (The exit will loop around 180 degrees to a stop sign where you will turn right to go east). This is the Dalton bypass. (By the way, gas in Dalton is cheaper than anywhere else around.) Follow the bypass around Dalton to Hwy 76 east, (Walnut Ave). This is the same road as you would be on if you took the second Dalton exit from I-75. Note: the 2 left lanes from the bypass to Hwy 76 are left turn lanes. Take Hwy 76 east to Chatsworth. At the McDonald's turn right onto Hwy 411 and go through Chatsworth and keep going south. Note: There will be a sign at the square in Chatsworth that points to Ellijay via Hwy 2/52, DON'T TAKE THIS ROUTE. Continue south on Hwy 411 a few miles until you come to a traffic light. Turn left at this light and go one block to the stop sign and turn right onto Old Hwy 411. Go maybe 3 miles or so and watch for the sign to Ellijay via Hwy 76/282. Turn left onto 76/282 and go til it dead-ends at the third traffic light in Ellijay. (Note: There is a 3 mile or so section of this road that is very curvy so be careful. ) At the dead-end turn left, go across the bridge and turn right onto Hwy 52 East. Go 5 miles and turn left onto Big Creek Road. Go 8.5 miles to the Big Creek Volunteer Fire Station. (We will use the fire station for some of our demos.) Just past the fire station Big Creek Road makes a sharp turn to the left; make the left turn and go 1.2 miles to 9776 Big Crrek Road. (Note: If you fail to make this turn you will be on Doublehead Gap Road just after passing the fire station). Cell phones will work at the tops of most of the hills. Another tip: Once you are on Big Creek Road the street numbers increase by 1000 per mile from Hwy 52 therefore when you see 8500 on a mailbox you are 8.5 miles from Hwy 52.
