Subject:
Raw Wood Storage Question

Gary R
>I have just collected a number of beech, maple and walnut logs. All were cut to about 1' to 2' in length, and I have wax sealed all the ends. As the pile is currently in my garage, I'm looking for other options. Would it be acceptable to store outside? I thought about placing on a frame, off of the ground, and covering with a few tarps. I could use as needed. Since I'll be turning wet, I'm not concerned about outside moisture (Upstate NY).

When I get time, I'll process into bowl blanks and turning squares, and again wax coat.

I can also place in back of my garage, facing south.

As always, thanks from the group for any recommendations.
