New B: Black Walnut

I have a question, I've been turning mostly larch and birch, I met a guy today who has some triple A fancy black walnut stock blanks for 20$ a piece. The blanks are 18" long, 6" wide, and 3-4" deep. They are originally to be used as stocks for rifles. But I'm sure that I will eventually find useful things to make from them.

Do you think this is a decent deal or should I shy away?

Thanks in advance for the information.
