Shop built scraper

>A short length of a disposable planer blade makes a great cutting tool. A 3/4 inch length can be broken in a vise (be sure to wrap a rag around it to control the pieces.) Cut a slot in the end of a 3/8 inch rod and braze the blade in place. Shape to suit and sharpen like a scraper. A full round shape works well for me when smothing the inside of vessels, bowls etc. By rotating slightly (vs presenting it flat) it will do a pretty fair job of shearing.
