>I've got a couple of pieces of spectacularly spalted birch.
But it's so punky that I can literally remove chunks of it with my fingernail.
Is Polycryl worth buying/trying?
Will it stabilize my supersoft wood, or should I just save my time and money and burn that hunk o' birch?
Or is there some other method to harden it?
