RW 90

>I just heard of a new electroplating for wear edges on wood cutting blades (I think they are owned by Belsaw) and was wondering if anyone else had heard about it. I was down at the place that makes my grinding wheels (CBN wheels)and showed them my gouge and how I sharpen it, and they told me about this RW 90 stuff. It is a 'hard facing' hard crome and diamond plating that in my case would be applied to the flute of the gouge. Apparently it is common on the M2 high speed steel cutters here in the lumber mills. It gives a much longer lasting cutting edge, and helps prevent buildup of wood and pitch on the cutters. Cost of application would be about $1.25 per inch. Does anyone know anything about it.
