Subject:
CA problem

Richard Jones
>OK, turning a bowl from really old, really dry walnut. Previous owner had this chunk glued up from three pieces. I am using walnut dust and thin CA Gold to fill the cracks. Looks like the CA really penetrates deep and spreads out, causing a huge stain, forcing LOTS, and I mean LOTS of sanding. Would a thicker glue work, use accelerator, or just use some white glue and dust? Is this occuring because it's dry or because it's walnut? This stuff seems thinner than the Elmer's CA I got from Lowe's.

Aggravating to get a nice looking shape then have to put 60 grit on it to remove the darn CA................

Thanks.
