WHAT WOOD? *PIC*

tek-Brunswick, Ohio
>I don't know what kind of wood this is, but I sure would like more. The amount of open pores, hardness and weight is very similar to Walnut of Mahogany, but the color is wrong. It is finished with General Finishes Danish Oil. That is currently my favorite finish. I got the wood in our club auction last December. I think the widow of one of our deceased members donated it. I hope he would approve of my finished product. The wood was a square block and already dry. I did have to CA a few drying checks. I did have a little trouble with some tear out. I shear scraped it with oil on it and that cleaned that up. If anyone has an idea of what kind of wood this is please let me know. It is 10 in diameter and 3 high.
