Bob Davis -jet mini

>Bob I had time to do a little playing tonight. The jet has a 500K pot with 3 wires so I'm not sure what to do about those. I couldn't get a schematic from jet. Apparently the techs don't even have one, they just swap boards when they have problems.

There are 3 adjustment pots inside. Vr1, Vr2 and Vr3. They adjust the speed of the lathe but since I can't find a schematic I don't know what they do. I did find out through playing that VR3 can slow the lathe down a lot. I don't know what it will do the torque because I only have defective motors to play with.

If you mark where this pot is set and then adjust it by turning it gently CW or CCW you can play with it and see if it will do what you want to do. It won't go to zero, if you want that just turn off the lathe. It will slow down to about 60 rpm or so. If it reduces the torque you can alway put it back where it was originally.

I'll try to play with it more later in the week. I have to work the next 2 nights.
