Flat guy's back...

>Hi folks.

So I tried to do the taper thing some of you suggested the other day. I went to the library and picked up Conover's Turning for Furniture book too.

It didn't work. My work piece kept popping out. Maybe the taper wasn't long enough(?). I saw in the book about making the collet thingy. It shows making a compression ring. Unfortunately, it doesn't explain how to make a compression ring. Just turn the ring then drill out the hole?

I know. I know. I can run over to Rockler and pick up the knobs and Shaker pegs. But I enjoy the aggrevasion... :)

Thanks!
Joe
