Flat guy with Another question

Joe in a Cleveland suburb
>Hi folks.

Thanks for the responses yesterday to my question(!). I know which method(s) I will try.

Here's another noob question- When creating a tenon or a taper, which is the best tool to use? Spindle gouge doesn't seem to do too well. Skew chisel? Scraper?

I have one of those cheapo Harbor Freight HSS sets which somebody here suggested as a good starter set some time ago. So that lets you know the variety I have.

Thank you.
Joe
