OT- Sort Of

Barbara Gill, Remlik VA
>I have been hanging around woodworking forums for about 10 years and have developed a unpleasant gut reaction to several terms that seem to be used when referring to wood. I was wondering if anyone else has the same reaction to certain uses of words and phrases? Here are two of mine.

Adding wood after the common name of a type of wood (i.e. Cherry wood) Of course it is wood, what else would woodworkers be talking about?

Calling Tulip (Yellow) Poplar Tulipwood- That is just plain wrong.

I hope I haven't offended anyone. I was just wondering if others are as opinionated as I.
