John Lucas - scrim fabric

>John,

When you were in Knoxville for your photo demo I mentioned a scrim material we use for video work. (At least I think it was with you I discussed this - sadly my memory is less reliable than I wish.)

I think what we use is called "double scrim fabric", very versatile since it is silver on one side, black on the other, and made from a mesh material. This one material can be used at least four ways, as a soft reflector, to kill highlights, as a diffusing fabric, and possibly as a backdrop. I found a piece cut from the end of a big roll that was too small for video work but might be perfect for table-top photography.

If it WAS you in that conversation and if you want a piece of this to experiment with, send me your snail-mail address and I'll stick some in an envelope.
