I'm brand new here - my first post. Wondering how many out there follow Ernie Conover's advice about grinding the skew? He is the only one I've heard (read) who insists that skews MUST be ground on the side of the wheel - flat grind.
I've done this, and admit to some improvement, but that may only be because I'm getting a little more proficient, and the hollow grind would work for me as well. Maintaining a sharp tool is pretty laborious with a flat grind, and I'm inclined to go back to the hollow grind. Any thoughts?
