>I found some logs today. I understand it is willow, not weeping willow. The area just under the bark (cork) looks pinkish. Heartwood is about 50% of the 12 - 15 inch diameter and, is a medium to light brown - not as dark as the bark. Grain pattern is similar to American elm.

What wood is it and is it any good for turning?
