Turning Archive 2006
>As of this evening, we have moved the contest deadline for Betty Scarpino's "Two Board Feet" contest out 30 days (to March 15) to allow you all some more time to cogitate and calculate and produce something up to the challenge.
TD speculates that the arithmetic of determining how much wood amounts to two board feet is an obstacle. Please don't get too carried away with the math. Worry more about your idea(s) and fire off an e-mail to me if you need help figuring out the amount of wood.
As a matter of fact, we have not officially augmented or changed the contest instructions as of yet, except to change the date. If any of you can give us a better way to think of "two board feet," please don't hold back. We sure don't want to handicap any math-challenged turners.
This is a substantial contest, with some great prizes, and I really want us to succeed. All it takes is some brain power, some turning skills and a fifteen-dollar entry fee to help defray the cost of contest administration and judging.
Looking forward to seeing a ton of new entries in time for the extended deadline of March 15, 2006.
