Drying green wood

>I have a nice piece of green "spalted Maple" 4 " SQ. I want to turn it into something right away. I want to speed up the drying process; can I get the oven hot; turn it off; put the blank in the oven for several nights and get it dry enough to turn; or will it dry too fast and split like crazy. I have heard of putting a turned green bowl into something warm to finish the process. Give me your thoughts and ideas PLEASE. I'm just impatient. I read somewhere that you can
speed up the process by using a microwave.
