What is done usually is that someone is in charge of the demonstrations, around here it is the Vice President. He solicits help from the group as to who they would like to see and then it is presented to the board and decisions are made. Not all meetings have demos, one month is set aside for our picnic. You can have an auction one month a year for revenue and on occasion we have a Tricks, Tips and Other Helpful Tidbits where everyone shows what helps them with their turning. At our next meeting we have a representative of the USDA coming in to present about the Emerald Ash Borer. In the past we have also had Power Point presentations on trips to the AAW symposium or the smaller symposiums. Lots of options and not all are demos. Hope this helps.
