When I was turning full-time, I never saw the floor. Clean up was a once-a-week thing (beyond shoveling out the major shavings daily). I didn't have the time (or the money) to properly equip my shop to maintain even a modicum of cleanliness. Now, combined with roll-down shades as chip barriers, cleanup is a breeze. And we all know, it's very pleasurable to start work in a clean shop.
