That is a nice setup, if I had lower ceilings I would probably go that route. But mine are between 9 and 10 feet over the lathe. I do have a track light mounted on the rafters with a 75 watt halogen spot. It is aimed just in front of the spindle and does a great job of lighting up the piece. Caught a close out sale at one of the box stores and got some great deals.
