Reversing VS lathe without stopping () tek-Brunswick, Ohio
>I have a Nova 3000 not a DVR. It has a 1 HP Dc Leason motor. I accidentally hit the reverse switch instead of the off switch. There was no real slow down. It just went into reverse a quickly as it could. It happened fast enough to make the chuck unscrew itself from the spindle. I guess each model of lathe needs to be checked before trying forward to reverse under operating conditions. There is a safety shield and spring pin on my lathe that keeps the reverse switch from being thrown. I keep the pin in place now except when I am sanding in reverse.
