>Mike, I'm not qualified to make other suggestions since I've not tried anything else but I can show an example of Tried and True Danish Oil on sycamore if that helps. Both handles are from the same block of wood. The screwdriver was given 3 very light coats of T&T. The difference is not as dramatic in person but it does darken the wood slightly.
If you decide to use T&T read the directions as it is applied a little differently than other danish oils. Very, very light coats are called for. I use a squirt bottle and literally dampen a rag with 4 or 5 drops at a time.
