I often stack and unstack blanks looking for just the right piece of wood for a piece that I have in mind. I often spend time orienting a blank to get the best out of it but the wood is quite silent during the process.

I guess that I know what people are saying when they say the wood speaks to them....I guess that I'm just not artsy enough to hear it.
