>I just bought a GE for my shop that has heat and cooling. The housing is only open on the back - that was a surprise to me. The unit I replaced had louvers all over it. My shop is 320sq ft, 10' ceilings, and well insulated. This unit is just under a ton I think. Really too big, but I needed it for heat as well and this was the smallest I could get. Anyway, mine doesn't sit in a window, it is in a hole in the wall and out of view. I assume I could have mounted it further in and decorated the box such that it looked nice. Unfortunately, my hood has no rules and we have window units hanging out of so called "bonus rooms" all over the hood. Looks really nice!
