>We used to go to a small town 4th of July picnic that had an auction to raise money for a charity. Each year a few of the rice farmers would start butting heads and bid several hundred dollars for a cherry or apple pie. Everyone won. The donator was praised for making the pie, the bidders made a substantial donation and the rest of us had a great time.

What was the pie worth? The same as your bowl, the amount of the winning bid. No apology needed so none accepted.
