I've only done this a few times on small bowls a la Al Stirt with a detail gouge, cutting bead after bead from bottom up -- very hard to get either a uniform size/shape, or a progression from small to larger, etc... Which tool did you use, and how'd it work ? What level of sanding is left to do after shaping the beads ? I'd also like to hear how the cutting differed between side grain and end grain.
