My take on this

>I have been turning for about 4 years now and still consider myself a novice, although I have made strides toward learning the basic techniques required to turn good pieces. I find this WC and WOW a valuable resource for my learning experiences.

Having an art background, I am particularly intrigued by the creative process. Because of this, I have always sought my "voice" in every medium I have worked in. My other avocation is infrared photography. I am told by others that my work is rather good and that my photos show a unique outlook on this world.

I'm now getting to the point where I want to expand my horizons in the world of woodturning. Step out of the box, so to speak. I am currently working on my first piece that will be outside of that box. Hopefully, it will be a beginning of an adventure and create more questions for me to be answered by another piece, and so on.

While I am taking this step, I continue to love to look at both traditonal and non-traditional turnings. There is always more to learn and one of the best ways to learn is to look and see.

Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to share just where I am coming from in the discussion.
