>This is my long bit. I made the extinction from scrap the shaft is part of an old bent foes ball rod, the shank that chuck closes on is part of an old tie wall nail. I ground the bar square and bur free it fit throw my chuck and seated in the Morris taper and my small jaws clamped the bar ran very true. Since my bar is hollow it made for easy drilling. Cross drilled for four #4 nails and peen them over. I only use this bit after the hole has been started a few inches with another bit.
