What would be the purpose of having the cutting edge below the top of the scraper? Sometimes I hold the scraper handle way down low, putting the tool about 45 degrees to the work which gives a fine scraping action, kind of like shear scraping. Would that lowered cutting edge provide a similar action?

I'm not sure what I just said makes sense, I hope it does......
